Captain Calendar: A Daily Leadership Program for Your Team Captains

One small cue a day, from preseason through the playoffs.

Great captains aren’t born. They’re built, one habit at a time. The Captain Calendar gives your captains a daily leadership cue for every day from October 1 through February 14, with a monthly theme and weekly themes that build on each other all season.

Each cue takes about a minute. Your captains read it, do it, and check it off. There’s nothing to prepare, so you don’t have to plan any extra meetings.

The season at a glance

  • October: Build the Habit. Start small and get daily leadership reps in before the season begins.

  • November: Set the Standard. Define what kind of captain you want to be and what your team stands for.

  • December: Connect & Communicate. Build trust and make your voice a habit as games begin.

  • January: Lead Through the Grind. Handle adversity, fatigue, and slumps during league play.

  • February: Finish Together. Stay calm under pressure and leave a legacy for next year’s captains.

What’s included

  • A printable, color-coded monthly calendar, one landscape page per month

  • A simple weekly checklist with room for notes

  • An Excel spreadsheet with a calendar tab for every month and “Done” checkboxes

  • A link to your own editable Google Sheet copy, so captains can track on their phones

  • A quick-start guide for using it with your team

Every day has a cue in one of five areas: Voice (say it), Example (show it), Connect (know your teammates), Standard (hold it), and Self (take care of yourself). Every week ends with a Weekend Check-In where captains rate their own leadership, not their stats.

Built for high school basketball, and flexible enough to use with any team sport. It was designed by Fieldhouse Mental Performance, which works with high school teams on the mental side of the game.

Instant digital download. After checkout, you’ll get an email with a secure link to download your files. Licensed for one coach and their team.
